Newcomers and Visitors

Welcome!

Whether you are new to or visiting our area, seeking information on the Catholic Church, or if you’ve been away from the church for a long time, we warmly welcome you to St. Gabriel and Sacred Heart parish.

Worship

We offer four Masses each weekend. Our 4pm vigil Mass at St. Gabriel is a casual and reverent celebration that includes music liturgy and a small choir.

The 7am Sunday Mass at St. Gabriel and the 8:30am Sunday Mass at the Sacred Heart chapel are smaller Masses with no music liturgy.

The Sunday 10:15am Mass at St. Gabriel is our most largely attended Mass. This celebration features music liturgy with a full choir as well as children’s church available in the Kleinpeter Center during the Mass.

Daily Mass is celebrated Tuesday through Friday at 8am in our Daily Mass Chapel located behind the Kleinpeter Center. All are welcome to come enjoy this intimate celebration.

Becoming Catholic

If you are interested in becoming Catholic, St. Gabriel offers an enriching and engaging RCIA program. This course typically begins every September with a once-a-week meeting commitment. The program is completed at either the Easter vigil or the Feast of Pentecost in the spring where the candidate is received into the Catholic church during the liturgical ceremony. Visit the formation page for registration information.

Parish School of Religion

PSR is available during the academic school year. Classes are held on Monday nights. Visit the formation resources page for more information.

Catholic School

St. Gabriel partners with St. Theresa in Gonzales, St. Jude in Baton Rouge and St. John the Evangelist in Prairieville to offer a Catholic education for the children of parishioners grades k through 8. Contact the parish office for more details.
