About the Presenter

Reverend Gilbert Enderle, C.Ss.R., a Redemptorist will be conducting our mission. He is a native of San Antonio, Tx. After completing his elementary education at St.John School in Collingswood, N.J., in 1950, Father Enderle entered the Redemptorist Seminary in Kirkwood, Mo.

Father Enderle has spent a great portion of his priest-hood in the classroom as both student and teacher.Father Enderle was ordained to the priesthood on Dec. 27, 1962, in Oconomowoc, Wis., by Bishop Roman Atkielski, auxiliary bishop of Milwaukee. After completing a year of pastoral work at St.Alphonsus Parish in St. Louis, Mo., Father Enderle returned to his birthplace, San Antonio, to study fora master’s degree in education followed by a year at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he worked towards a master’s in applied linguistics.From 1966 to 1980, Father Enderle was an instructor at Holy Redeemer Redemptorist Preparatory Seminary in LaCombe, La., serving as principal for the four years of his tenure.

From 1980 to 1983, Father Enderle was an instructor at the Co-operative Seminary in Bellelle, Ill. After a year of advanced theological studies at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, Calif., Father Enderle was served as master of novices for the Redemptorist Novitiates at Oconomowoc, Wis., and Ferguson, Mo.From 1990 to 1992, he served as master of novices at the Regional Redemptorist Novitiate in Ibadan, OyoState, Nigeria.

In 1995, he completed his Ph.D in Historical Theology at St. Louis University. After three years as co-director of the Redemptorist Theology Residence in Chicago, Father Enderle served as pastor of Nuestra Senoradel Perpetuo Socorro in San Antonio from 1998 to 2005 before being transferred to the Redemptorist Historical Institute in Rome.

Father Enderle currently pastors at St. Gerard Majella in Baton Rouge, LA.
